Encaustic Painting: Beyond the Basics
In this workshop, participants who have already worked with encaustic will explore additional techniques and methods such as collage and fabric pattern embossing. Participants can choose their own approach to build an image as well as integrate photographs and a variety of collage materials.

Encaustic Painting
Learn the traditional techniques of the ancient encaustic medium and combine them with more contemporary methods and approaches in this beginning workshop. Demonstration covers a brief history of encaustic, the use of Wagner Encaustics’ paints and commonly used tools for encaustic. Students leave class with a piece of art ready to hang.

Encaustic Technique: Non-Toxic Xerox Transfer
In this unique painting session, participants already exposed to encaustic will explore the many possibilities of transferring images onto encaustic surfaces.  This non-toxic process eliminates solvents using only water.  Participants should bring five to ten high contrast Xerox images of varying sizes to work with on the 8” x 8” panel provided in class.
